Leiden top Dutch university in THE World Ranking
Leiden University is the top Dutch university according to the Times Higher Education Ranking. This year Leiden climbed from 79th to 64th position, overtaking Utrecht. The THE World University Rankings presents the top 200 universities worldwide based on a number of indicators from which an overall ranking is made.
California number 1
In the list of Dutch universities, Leiden is followed by Utrecht University (67) and Wageningen University (70).
The 2012-2012 world ranking is headed by the California Institute of Technology, followed by the University of Oxford and Stanford University in joint second place.
The Netherlands performs well
The Netherlands again performs well this year in the rankings, and is the third 'knowledge country' after the United States and the UK. There are seven Dutch universities in the top 100 and twelve in the top 200. All Dutch universities have risen in the rankings compared to last year.
